This is five minutes walking distance from the Olympia Kensington, where the London Chess Classic takes place.

Kensington Olympia

High Street Kensington is the closest tube Station. Shepherd’s Bush, Holland Park, Barons Court and Earl´s Court are all within twenty minutes walking distance or a few bus stops away. There is also a station at Olympia but services are less frequent.

The Hilton itself is likely to fill up well in advance due to the London Chess Classic. It is the best, and the most expensive, hotel in the immediate vicinity.

The Lily Hotel is always popular with conference attendees. It is an easy walk away and much more affordable than the Hilton, albeit of somewhat lower standard.

The website for the Olympia (which is the venue for the London Chess Classic) also has a useful list of nearby accommodation.

It is strongly advised to book as soon as possible because London is very busy. Travelodge Fulham and Holiday Inn Earls Court may be worth checking.

On Friday and Saturday night it will be difficult to find inexpensive accomodation due to many UK visitors and European Christmas shoppers coming in for the week-end.

Among the airports, Heathrow is closest with the tube going straight to Hammersmith. Gatwick and Luton have train connections to Olympia with one train change. City Airport is across town. Stansted and Southend are further off.

For public connections check Transport for London.
